Spring is blossoming in all of its glory at Atalaya Golf & Country Club. Now that our days are longer and our temperatures warmer, it’s easy to reflect upon how fortunate we are to live in such a privileged environment – one that gives us 320 days of sunshine a year – and play our favourite sport on Atalaya’s two championship golf courses.

Combatting COVID-19 is complicated for everyone, and the results of our weeks of staying at home and self-isolating are just now starting to be realised.

Soon, the government’s lockdown restrictions will be lifted and we will again be able to tee up on Atalaya’s courses.

Mid-March until the end of June is one of the best times of the year to play golf on the Costa del Sol. The climate is milder than in the summer, and the season’s moderate weather is perfect for walking.

While walking at Atalaya, there is always time to observe the spectacular beauty of each and every one of our 36 holes. Listening to the melodies of the many species of colourful birds that call our courses their home and appreciating the gentle breezes that moderate the sun’s warm rays are added perks to golfing this time of year.

During the current period while our courses are closed as a result of the coronavirus outbreak, we at Atalaya are taking advantage of this quiet time to not only maintain our courses but to also do some extra work to ready the club for your return. We are leaving it to nature to decorate our surroundings as only she can with incredible colours, pleasant fragrances and all those sensations that springtime brings to our memories.

Atalaya’s doors will soon reopen. We will again enjoy one another’s company and better appreciate the passion that unites us in our common love of both golf and nature.⛳

Stay safe. Take care of yourselves. We will see you soon.
