Atalaya Golf & Country Club members regularly have the opportunity to showcase their golfing abilities by participating in the numerous tournaments that the Club offers each week. One of the most popular of these competitions is the “Monthly Medal”.
One Saturday each month is dedicated to the playing of this event. The 18-hole, Individual Stableford, qualifying tournament is always played on the demanding Old Course and attracts a field of more than 60 golfers. “Monthly Medallist” honours are bestowed upon both the lady and gentlemen competitors with the highest number of Stableford points. The player with the best “Scratch” score is also recognised.
Currently, Golfriend’s is sponsoring the monthly event. Golfriend’s is a full-service, golf shop located adjacent to the Caddy Master at Atalaya and in the Centro Comercial Mustang in Estepona. Golfriend’s owner Antonio Valle is an active Atalaya member and supports many of Atalaya’s activities throughout the year.
Golfriend’s sponsorship of the “Monthly Medal” tournament includes free entry into the competition for all members, monetary vouchers for the winning three players in each category, special awards for the “nearest to the pin” and “longest putt” and the prizes for a tombola that is open to all tournament participants.
The “Monthly Medal” is just one of the many events that Atalaya Golf & Country Club organises for its members. It is an example of the many advantages that Club membership affords.
