On 15 July, Atalaya Golf & Country Club proudly hosted one of the qualifying events of the IDEATerrazas WAGC Andalucía Circuit, welcoming amateur golfers from across the region to compete on the club’s iconic Old Course.
With the opportunity to continue their journey towards the World Amateur Golfers Championship (WAGC), players enjoyed a day of competitive golf on one of the Costa del Sol’s most established championship layouts.
Excellent course conditions and strong performances across all five handicap categories made for another memorable tournament at Atalaya Golf.
A pathway to the World Amateur Golfers Championship
The IDEAterrazas WAGC Andalucía Circuit offers amateur golfers the chance to compete on an international pathway that could ultimately lead to representing Spain at the World Amateur Golfers Championship World Final in Malaysia.
At each qualifying event, the top two players in each of the five handicap categories earn a place in the Andalucía Regional Final, which will be held on Friday, 14 August, at Cabopino Golf Marbella.

The five category winners at the Regional Final will then qualify for the exclusive National Final at Retamares Golf Club (Madrid) on 4–5 September.
Only 20 players will compete for the ultimate prize: one of five places on Team Spain for the World Final in Malaysia.
Should any qualified player decide not to participate in the next stage of the championship, their place will be offered to the next highest-ranked player in the same category from that qualifying event.
