Spain’s Carlota Ciganda, who plays on both the Ladies European Tour and the LPGA Tour, is the 2021 winner of the Andalucia Costa del Sol Open de España. The tournament was held at Costa del Sol’s Los Naranjos Golf Club, November 25 – 28.

Ciganda entered the tournament’s final round with a three-shot lead and never looked back. She carded a birdie on the second and an eagle on the fifth and two more birdies on the eighth and 18th.

At 15 under par she won the tournament hands down with a four shot lead over Second Place winner Maja Stark of Sweden.

“I’m very happy,” Ciganda commented to Sky Sports. “It’s a tournament that I really wanted to win. I love Spain and obviously to win your country’s Open is really, really special.”

Ciganda went on to say, “I’m very happy with the way I played and to shoot two bogey-free rounds this week is great golfing.”

Thai professional Atthaya Thitikul, who is the Race to Costa del Sol champion and who is known as the youngest lady golfer (at the age of 14) to win a professional golf tournament as an amateur, placed Third.

The entire Atalaya Golf & Country Club family extends warm congratulations to all winners and players who participated in this year’s tournament!
