Played on Atalaya’s iconic Old Course, the 36-hole medal play event brings together golfers from near and far to honor the heritage of Dr. Bernhard von Limburger, the renowned German golf course architect behind Atalaya’s timeless design.
2025 marks an especially important milestone: the 100th anniversary of Bernhard von Limburger’s victory in the 1925 German Amateur Championship, where he claimed the legendary Von Limburger Cup—a trophy he had also lifted in the German Amateur Closed Championships of 1921 and 1922. This centennial is not only a celebration of his brilliance as a course designer but also a reminder of his talent as a player and his influence on both German and international golf.
To commemorate this historic centenary, the Von Limburger Open Championship 2025 promises to be an even grander occasion. Players will compete for exceptional prizes, including three months of unlimited green fees at Atalaya for both the gross and net division winners. Beyond the competition, the event will feature a welcoming snack bag for participants and conclude with canapés, cocktails, and a prize-giving ceremony on the final day.
