This morning, Atalaya Golf & Country Club had the pleasure of welcoming Issa Abou El Ela, one of Egypt’s top amateur golfers, who enjoyed a courtesy round on our renowned Old Course.
Issa has built an impressive career on the international stage. He recently won the 2025 Katameya Heights Amateur Open by an astonishing 12 strokes and reclaimed the Arab Individual Championship title in Morocco in 2023.
With strong finishes in African and Arab tournaments and an invitation to the $300,000 Abu Dhabi Challenge (HotelPlanner Tour), Issa’s name continues to grow on the global golf scene. As of 2025, he was ranked No. 511 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR), while pursuing a Marketing degree at Oklahoma City University in the U.S.
Issa represents a new wave of Middle Eastern golf talent, combining elite performance with strong international support—making him a notable figure in the region’s golf landscape.
