Fourteen-year-old Cristina Albertazzi, who is proudly sponsored by Atalaya Golf & Country Club, took Sixth Place in the Norberto Goizueta Memorial tournament that was held from July 8th <\/sup>– 11th<\/sup> at the Real Club de Golf Guadalmina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Played on Guadalmina\u2019s South Course, the tournament attracted some 120 aspiring male and female amateurs. The goal of all competitors was to gain World Amateur Golf Rankings (WAGR<\/a>) points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cristina, one of the youngest players in the field, carded imposing rounds of 75, 76, 76 and 75 in the four-day, stroke play, scratch challenge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In July of 2019, Cristina\u2019s sister Valentina, who is also proudly sponsored by Atalaya, was the First Place winner in the tournament\u2019s Ladies\u2019 Division. To gain the championship Valentina carded impressive rounds of 69, 73, 67 and 77 for a total score of 286 (-2).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year Alberto Dom\u00ednguez, who is federated by Sherry Golf in Jerez, took First Place in the Men\u2019s Division, and Julia S\u00e1nchez of Club de Golf La Ca\u00f1ada placed first in the ladies\u2019 category.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Norberto Goizueta Memorial serves as a tribute to its namesake and founder of the Real Club de Golf Guadalmina. Inaugurated in 1959 on Guadalmina\u2019s South Course, the tournament has grown to become one of the most important events on the annual Andalusian amateur golf calendar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The competition is a \u201cCounting Event\u201d in the WAGR system. The WAGR ranks the top amateur golfers in the world based on each player\u2019s average performance over a 52-week rolling cycle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
