Many variables were considered before making the final decision:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Overall conditions of the entire course<\/li><li>Specific areas on individual fairways<\/li><li>Type of carrier to be used<\/li><li>Rate and time of the application process<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Old Course Fertilizaci\u00f3n\" width=\"847\" height=\"476\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/mYOpj4Trxbs?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Factors in Choosing the Correct Fertiliser<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nutrient requirements for fairways vary. Consequently, choosing the correct fertiliser is somewhat complicated. The evaluation process includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Type of soil<\/li><li>Species of turfgrass<\/li><li>Climate<\/li><li>Ability of the soil to hold nutrients<\/li><li>Amount and quality of the water to be applied<\/li><li>Amount of play the course receives<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Symptoms of specific nutrient deficiency, which are easily observed, are also confirmed through chemical testing before the final decision is made.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Normally for Atalaya\u2019s early autumn application, a complete nitrogen-phosphorus-potassium fertiliser is used.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year\u2019s choice was to use a dry fertiliser, which is typically applied by using a centrifugal spreader.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since it is preferable to water-in dry fertiliser applications to prevent foliar burn, we took advantage of nature and carried out our project just before the recent rains started.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Old Course Fertilizaci\u00f3n 2\" width=\"847\" height=\"476\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/9TIkmSt8WRk?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Atalaya Golf &amp; Country Club\u2019s greenkeepers have recently completed fertilising all fairways on the Old Course.
