The Norwegian Olympic Committee \u201c… told athletes\nto stay where they were and make their preparations for the coming season,\u201d she\nsaid. However, two days later on the 14th<\/sup> of March the announcement\nwas made that Spain was closing down. The lockdown included golf courses. So,\nTina returned to her home outside of Oslo in Norway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What\ndid all of this mean for the aspiring young professional golfer? Tina\u2019s\nquestions abounded: \u201cWhen will there be tournaments? When can I travel again?\nWhen can I go back to Spain and Atalaya? Is it okay with everyone I know at\nAtalaya? What do I do now?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Unfortunately,\nTina\u2019s answers were few. Upon returning to Norway she was immediately\nquarantined for two weeks with nothing to do. However, for Tina\u2019s father the\nanswers were easy. \u201cDad always has the best advice,\u201d she said. \u201cThe solution\nwas to buy a 75 inch television and a PlayStation 4.\u201d The family spent time\nwatching TV, playing games and walking in the woods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n When\nthe quarantine was over, Tina was able to practice at home and later travel to\ntrain with her technical coach. A plan for the season was formulated with the\ndecision \u201cto prepare as normal and just see what would happen,\u201d said Tina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Tina\nadmits that situations like this can create a lack of motivation, but for her\nthe circumstances proved to be a wakeup call. She was forced to dig deep and\nask herself: \u201cIs this the thing I really want to do?\u201d Tina then goes on to\nreflect that the answer was very clear. She decided to seize the opportunity\nand \u201cdo the right things a little more often and a little better than the\nrest.\u201d This formula is what is necessary to be great.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Her\nweekly schedule started on Sundays. Although she had no idea when her next\ntournament might be, she followed a strict training programme, determined to\nget better every day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Tina\nalso set aside time to work with the junior girls at Kjekstad Golfklubb, her\nhome club. \u201cOne of my passions is to give something back to the sport I love\nand especially young girls,\u201d she said. \u201cI spent a couple of hours with them\nevery Monday. It seemed to inspire them, and in a way it was inspiring to me,\ntoo.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n As\ntime passed the corona virus threat improved in Norway. During the second week\nof April, the Norwegian government started to loosen restrictions. Most\nimportantly, \u201cwe were able to start playing golf again, but with restrictions\nvery similar to what you have in Spain,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Now\nthat we in Andaluc\u00eda are in Phase 3 of the de-escalation plan, Tina anxiously\nawaits returning to Atalaya. \u201cI am so happy that things are starting to look\nbright all over Europe and of course for you all at Atalaya. I really miss\nwalking the fantastic golf course and talking to you all. I’ll be back as soon\nas I’m allowed. Before you know it we’ll meet at the clubhouse again.
