Valentina Albertazzi is the 2018 winner in the women\u2019s category of the Sub-18 Andalusian Championship. This year\u2019s event was held at the Albor\u00e1n Golf course in Almeria, on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, June 29th, 30th and July 1st.<\/p>\n
Valentina is sponsored by Atalaya Golf & Country Club, and Atalaya is very proud of this aspiring, young golfer\u2019s commitment to the game and the ongoing success of her golfing career.<\/p>\n
The three-day competition was played using an 18-hole stroke play, scratch format each day. At the end of the second day of play, half of the tournament\u2019s participants were cut from the competition, reducing the field of players on the final day by one-half.<\/p>\n
Valentina won the competition with an excellent final round, scoring a 69 and carding the only under par round of the day. Valentina ended the final round four shots ahead of Marta Lopez, from Playa Serena, who was the tournament\u2019s leader after two days of play. Carmen Belmonte, from Real Club de Campo de C\u00f3rdoba, walked away with the championship\u2019s third place honours, nine shots behind Valentina.<\/p>\n
\u00c1lvaro Mueller, of the Real Club de Golf Guadalmina, took First Place honours in the young men\u2019s division.<\/p>\n
The female participation in this year\u2019s tournament out numbered the male participation, with 44 girls playing compared to 42 boys. In total 80 young golfers from the eight Andalusian provinces and other places in Spain participated in this year\u2019s competition.<\/p>\n
The Sub-18 Andalusian Championship allows players to score points for the R&A World Amateur Golf Ranking.<\/p>\n
