On Sunday, January 28th, Atalaya Golf & Country Club’s spectacular Old Course, which celebrates its 50th Anniversary this year, was the scene of the Andaluc\u00eda Golf Tournament. The 18-hole, individual Stableford, open competition attracts top amateur golfers.<\/p>\n
The day’s windy conditions made play quite challenging but failed to deter the tournament’s keen competitors from producing some highly creditable scores. <\/p>\n
Trophies, as well as prizes valued at more than \u20ac1,500, were presented to the three leading players in two Stableford categories, and special awards were given for the Longest Drive (gentlemen and ladies), the ball Closest to the Pin, and the best Scratch score. Gifts were, also, awarded through a raffle.<\/p>\n
In the First Handicap Category Francisco Jos\u00e9 P\u00e9rez Holgado placed First with 41 points. Etienne Baudouin Alcojor was Second with 38 points, and Enrique Herrera Garc\u00eda placed Third with 36 points, beating Antonio Flores Sim\u00f3n on a handicap count back.<\/p>\n
In the Second Handicap Category \u00c1lvaro P\u00e9rez Cruz placed First with 39 points. Nicolas Carrasco D\u00edez was Second with 35 points, and Mike Christopher was Third with 35 points, winning on a handicap count back. <\/p>\n
Scratch winners were: Enrique Herrera Garc\u00eda, First Place; Francisco Jos\u00e9 P\u00e9rez Holgado, Second Place; and Pedro Miguel Cevey Mendoza, Third Place.<\/p>\n
The Longest Drive awards went to Steve Cameron and Matilde G\u00e1lvez Peria\u00f1ez, and Closest to the Pin was captured by Juan Francisco Lazo C\u00f3rdoba.<\/p>\n
