Great success of Andalucia Golf Tournament at Atalaya Old Course

The good weather, the extraordinary quality of the course and a great participation, characterized the Andalucia Golf Tournament played last 24th January 2016 in Atalaya Old Course. More than one hundred Spanish and foreign players enjoyed a splendid sports day at the prestigious course designed by Bernhard von Limburger and opened in 1967, which was followed by a lunch at the club facilities located in Estepona.

The competition gave numerous gifts sponsored by Fairway and Blue, Holiday Golf and Bodegas Alvaro Domecq, which gave all participants over 18 years, a bottle of wine "Hacienda Montecorto D.O. Rueda". The most highly rated players also won awards of the Tom Tom brand, specifically a GPG Tom Tom Golfer and a Tom Tom navigator for cars.

The amateurs who gathered at the tournament played at a good level and enjoyed both the course and the good weather prevailing. The tournament brought together a wide representation of nationalities, with a preponderance of Spanish, who greatly enjoyed the sports day.

The prize giving in the Atalaya clubhouse, where a delicious lunch was served, chaired by the editor of Andalucia Golf, Antonio Sanchez,.

Regarding the results, Raul Calvo was the winner in the first category, with 39 points. Second place, with 38 points, was for Giovanni Albertazzi, and the third, with 37 points, for Carlos Sarria. In the second categor, David Chicon won with 49 points. Andrea Minciarelli finished second with 39 points, while the third place went to Fernando Velilla, who also totalled 39 points.

The scratch winner was Giovanni Albertazzi, and tied for second Doris Müller and Francisco Siconolfi.

The special prize for Nearest to pin was to Henry Gomez, while Fernando Velilla and Doris Müller won the Longest drive.
