Estepona receives the “V Málaga Viva Award” for its sustainability project

At the end of 2022, Estepona received the “V Málaga Viva Award” for the initiative ‘Estepona, Jardín de la Costa del Sol’. The award highlights the good practices undertaken to promote sustainable and innovative development policies against climate change.

In the last decade, the projects of the Estepona town hall have been developed with the aim of creating a sustainable town, with a better quality of life and well-being for its citizens. This initiative has had a great economic and social impact, and in turn has placed Estepona at the forefront of the most sustainable and humane municipalities.

The projects have included, among others, the creation of a garden on a large urban area of more than 20 kilometres, an outdoors museum with more than 60 artworks on building façades, the unique Botanical-Orchid Park and an open-air library that has been created via the Poetry Route.

The town hall is currently working on extending the town down by the sea, creating one of the best seafront promenades on the Spanish coast and a new revitalised area, open to pedestrians, full of character and which is already one of the favourite places to enjoy the town. “Come and discover Estepona, one of the best towns to visit in Malaga, full of life and with a wide range of natural and cultural activities.”
