Atalaya Golf ahead of any other golf club in Andalucía in online Marketing

Atalaya QR CodeI am delighted and proud to update you with excellent news that not only puts Atalaya Golf ahead of any other golf club in Andalucía, but is a milestone in using digital technology to our advantage, both for communication as well as for revenue purposes. With the signing of our agreement with Golf Spain, we are now the first golf club in Spain that can be reserved through any Smartphone and Blackberry. (GolfSpain copes over 85% of all golf courses in Spain with their reservation program).

 

This big step forward will help us maximize our online reservation potential for both courses. In addition, we have received the so-called Quick-Response Code (QR code), a bi-dimensional code similar to bar-codes in department stores and supermarkets. (Lufthansa now prints that QR code on most boarding passes for “quick boarding”.) This QR code can be used in any of our marketing collateral (web, print, magazines) or anywhere in our club, changing rooms, restaurant and the hotel for “mobile tagging ”.

 

This technology allows anyone with a smartphone to instantly receive additional information such as promotions, golf club info, etc, by simply holding the phone toward this code. We will be putting together a plan on how and where exactly to use this technology for maximum impact. In addition, I will investigate ways to make our competitive advantage known to our customers and the world, by way of direct emailing, interviews, etc. Without wanting to exaggerate, I truly believe that this digital technology puts Atalaya Golf head and shoulders above our competition.
