Atalaya Golf & Country Club attended the celebration of the 2011 KLM Golf Open, sharing the stand that the Andalusian Royal Golf Federation set for this event. Thanks to this initiative, more than 100 golf courses annexed to the Spanish Golf federation were also represented in the golf tournament that was held from the 7th to the 11th of September.

The KLM Open is part of the European Tour, the major professional golf Tour organized in Europe.The prizes have been raising last years up to 1.8 million euros, from which the winner receives 300.000 euros. With its 45.000 visitors, the KLM Open is one of the best golf tournaments organized by the European Tour. 

The winner of the 2011 KLM Open was the englishman Simon Dyson, who finished the tournament twelve under par, separated from David Lynn for a single stroke, and with two strokes from Rory McIlroy. This is the third time that Dyson manages to win the KLM Open.
